The general Secretary of the ruling party in Somaliland ( Udub) has been accused of shooting one of prominent and talented army officer in Aynaba district.

Mataan Mahdi Beeli-eedey was in the armed struggle against Siyad Barre regime, he suffered injuries during this struggle and his family had lost most of their loved ones, in that struggle. He was now serving in the army as an officer until yesterday.

The suspect who can not be named for legal reasons, has not been handed to the police and the general secretary Mr Yassin Jama ( Jug-soo dhacay) has not made any comment regarding this issue, since the incident.

Former friends of the victim had paid tribute to his family and said it is sad to hear, that the government are killing or arresting the people like Mahdi. “This is sad to hear,” they said.

Many senior politicians urged to the general secretary to explain to the public about this incident.
